page 1: Introduction
This summer things will be heating up in the Hilton Hotel Antwerp, with the biggest names in the game going head to head for a combined prizepot of €50,000. Between the 25th and the 27th of July, the city of Antwerp will the host for the first ever Antwerp Esports Festival, brought to you by Gamevibes, in cooperation with Intel, Packard Bell, SteelSeries, Hilton and Chief.
Besides the Call of Duty 4 and FIFA 2008 competitions theres enough to look forward to. The various stands and live streamed coverage from the event make the Antwerp Esports Festival (short: AEF) enjoyable for not only the players, but also the spectators.
Livescores of the competitions will be available here on Tek-9.org and we'll keep you up-to-date on the latest developments when the event goes live.
The competitions:
Call of Duty 4
1st : 10,000 € + 4,000 € hardware
2nd : 6,000 € + 1,000 € hardware
3rd : 3,000 € + 1,000 € hardware
4th : 1,000 € + 1,000 € hardware
5th – 8th : hardware prizes (1,000 € each)
Total : 20,000 € cash and 10,000 € hardware
FIFA 2008 (PC)
1st : 2,250 € + 500 € hardware
2nd : 1,000 € + 250 € hardware
3rd : 500 € + 250 € hardware
4th : 250 € + 250 € hardware
5th – 8th : hardware prizes (250 € each)
Total : 4,000 € cash and 2,000 € hardware
FIFA 2008 (PS3)
This event is run twice, once Friday and once Saturday
1st : 500 €
2nd : 300 € hardware
3rd : 200 € hardware
Total : 1,000 € cash and 1,000 € hardware

Amazing lan, I think the AEF was the biggest and the best event of the cod series... it remember me the ESWC 2k7... it was really nice, good job dfb and the crew.

nice event! i had fun with all of you guys:D unlucky it was such a big schedule so we couldnt really chill with all the teams and hang out or go out. next time better:D GGs and hope to see you all in holland @ easybash!
PS: i just love all the interviews and comments where the teams who bootcamped say: ''yes never been so prepaired blabla we have a very good chance on winning blabla'' hahah and then get knocked out:D
and also how many teams/people (still) dont rate us @ top10 :D

svo maybe drop the ego because you came 2nd at one event and people might take you more seriously, who cares if they said they had a good chance? they did...lots of things can determine the outcome, luck,the map, etc etc so deflate that ego of yours for a second cos no1 else finds it funny

Well done to dfb for pulling off a great event, some long hours but thats always expected on events. Many teams came away disappointed with their play on various maps.
Really well played Pandemic and KomaCrew, just wish you could have hit OT int he finals :P

tbh KC was my 2nd favourite (1st was EG) and i was pretty much sure they were gonna do well after i saw them @ paris in the beginning of the month.
thanks again to steven for that great event and too bad i think i'm not gonna make it tex possible for private problems.
