VAE VICTIS - Veni, Vidi, Vici is starring the former team MeetYourMakers consisting of D1ablo, mark, LoOkzor, soclon and stat. Showcasing frags from LANs aswell as some online-frags this movie will keep you entertained throughout.
Statement by Rene "Chief" Heideveld:
"Finally my 2nd movie, after working with goLd on several projects I thought it was time to make one on my own again. I started working on this project +/‐30weeks ago, when the team was under TLR tag. Back then I was also under TLR tag so my choice was quickly made what team I would be making a movie about. I really wanted to make a team movie. As you all know the team quickly went to MYM and soon after that the team split up.
Making a movie in 30 weeks is pretty slow and I have to admit I was a bit lazy, which was caused by lack of motivation. But with the help from Diablo I got over it. The movie consists out of 3 chapters; CrossfireDevotiChallenge4, i33 and online part (missing lookzor's online part because he didn’t upload any demos). It’s a minimal effect movie, I really wanted to have the footage speak for its own and be creative with camera’s which is hard in cod4 but challenging. And with finishing touch I added an intro, outro and a 3dbullet animation. I want to thank everyone who helped me make this movie and I hope you like it."

as for videocopilot, yes i did use a tutorial for 3dstudio max cos i know shit about that program but i did give it my own twist.If people think i used tutorials for my intro and outro you dont know me at all.
The only link i can see is AE, duh.

i dont think we go out of are way to see jesus in the songs we use, although cant speak for everyone :D
I really liked this movie, one of the best. My only thing is the quality but with a higher quality im guessing the filesize would be to big, therefore best of both worlds was achieved. Really nice 10/10 imho.

It's just seems like every other COD film uses christian rock, whether it's Red, Skillet, Paramore or something else. :<

- editing err bit overuse of slowmo/3rdperson but i guess thats personal taste
- way too long scenes.. I wanted to see frags not ppl trying to find opponents for 20 secs :< could have used some fastforwards/transitions there to bring in more action, was really bored sometimes f.e the vacant situation where it was 1o3 and he´s searchign for him for 15 secs or so just to backrape him ^_^ . But hey you were limited in frags because it was lan footage so it´s actually not a problem i think

well tbh that sequence on vacant is pretty important.. the frag on it's own is normal (backrape or w/e) but it's how he pokes him, runs the other way to make him think he's going toilet side, then silently moves back to A and completely out games him.

- Music wasn't used well, the scenes didn't go well with the music and overall synch wasn't too impressive.
This movie didn't really get me into it. Started well with the intro but lack of synch/atmosphere prevented me from getting really into the movie. I liked the cams but they were pretty much ruined by the excessive slow motion.
All in all this was a "good" movie but it still felt unfinished, it lacked atmosphere. A little polishing, synching and matching the scenes with the music would've done wonders.

+ 3d bullet was nice
+/- frags (i saw almost all d1ablo's frags though some nice aces and team actions)
- editing (almost no editing at all)
- boring parts like waiting for frag and too much slowmo
Nothing special though was watchable.

Editing = The thing that turns demos into movies. And I refer to the meaning of the word movie. This project made me wow in the first part because i really loved the intro and then it just lets you down.
