Vn Preinvite Qualifier - Second Day Coverage - Interview with BuyKey LATINO

Posted by Peter ptER Mather on 2011-10-14 00:48:51

In tonight's coverage of the Vita Nova Preinvite Qualifier I have a small interview with none other than BuyKey's very own LATINO who spreads a bit of light his recent match against EFRAGZ. Alongside this you can find a detailed match report on an amazing match between Team Property and BuyKey, showing all the highlights of tonights Quarter Finals games including two overtimes and a spectacular four versus one clutch.

First off tonight I managed to sit down Alan "LATINO" Zambrano, an AK for the recently re-named team of BuyKey, previously known as iCon, to discuss some of the highlights of the EFRAGZ vs BuyKey match. Unfortunatly due to personal restraints some of the match was missed, but the game I paid witness too was a scorcher. You can find the interview below:

I unfortunately joined the game a bit late, seeing you already with a victory on the previous map, care to fill us in on the highlights?

Well there's not much to say really, we managed to win strike quite comfortably in a 13-4 lead, we played confidently and I think that showed. The other side played well but I think we were just stronger on the map.

We saw you guys attacking quite aggressively on Defence, a strategy some teams deem too risky on this side biased map. Do you think this played in your favour in retrospect?

We feel the best defence is a good offence, and in the grand scheme of things very few teams actually push the attacking team. It works well for us and it showed in that game.

You started off your attack with an aggressive A push, following on from trends from the previous half. You did however get quickly shut down, do you think you were over confident going into this half or we’re you just unlucky?

I think we were unlucky, our A site attacks usually pay off and there were a few moments that could have easily gone the other way, but that's life I guess.

To your credit you did quickly recover the following round with a determined B push, allowing

you to keep your four round lead. How did you guys feel knowing that you had such an advantage, both technically and spiritually?

We managed to pick off one of the enemy players in B which really helped our advance, this helped build our confidence and we made a calculated guess that there would only be two at most remaining on the B site area. With this in mind we felt confident enough that we could overwhelm their defenses and push the site.

You seemed to find the middle area quite an easy part of the map to abuse, is this usually the case or did EFRAGZ plays style allowed you to get away with proverbial murder?

We've played them in the past, mainly during practise clan wars and we've noted that they tend not to play in mid. Knowing this we decided to make full use of it, quite often playing three of our team in that area and supporting them in their attack. It worked well, EFRAGZ simply needed to take grasp of that central area.

It was quite rare that you would rotate to the alternate bomb site, was this a conscious decision or is it simply not in your teams DNA to give up on your push and divert to a possibly easier side?

We had good team work when we worked together and as such we didn't really see a need. It's as simple as that really, why rotate to a different bomb site when the current one is working?

You're up against Team Property next who've had a blinder of a tournament. How do you feel going into this game?

We are as confident as we were during the last match, and given what's up for grabs and our previous performance we are motivated to win.

I know time is short so I'll let you get away, good luck and do you have anything final you wish to share?

Just like to say I love the team I play in so much, we're all so happy and content and now that we've played so well in the build up to the final we've become so motivated to win the cup. Both the teams that we've faced tonight have played too well and I sincerely wish them good luck in the future.

Great job once again pTER, but please, can you mention which map you are talking about because if a team comments on their gameplay on a certain map, while as a reader you don't have a clue what they're on about, that's quite annoying.
