TEK9 Week of News #1 - 1 - 6

Posted by Bob Bcrbo Van de Voorde on 2011-05-08 14:00:08
So this article should appear once a week and will serve as a sort of short summary of what has happened in the perhaps lower echelons of the scene, featuring all changes and happenings that have taken place below the preinvite level. After a week of deliberation and taking in all the news, you should be able to very quickly see what has happened from May 2nd, until May 8th.

1. Omnia Are Picked Up By DWAVE eSports

After having gone through quite some changes in the line-up, the boys surrounding Johan "Plumz" Lawrence seemed to have found their right five man mix and would be ready to play their game. However, they did not feel right at home in Next-Evolution, as they felt they were being lead on and left to find a new and perhaps better deal.

Not too long after, the Serbian Vukan "VUKANNN" Dragicevic joined the frame and they also managed to get in touch with the Dutch DWAVE eSports organisation. The team will now look to keep up this same line-up and then hope to progress into a team that gets noticed through either hard work or good results in online cups.

United Kingdom Johan "Plumz" Lawrence
Austria Alex "chayx" Brenn
United Kingdom Lewis "lewyeah" Whitaker
Iceland Bragi "brall1" Emilsson
{{flag_rs}} Vukan "VUKANNN" Dragicevic

United Kingdom Max "ChemisTTT" Edwards

The team's captain, Johan "Plumz" Lawrence, had some words to share about their recent situation:

"As a team we started as 5 players, some who had played together previously and some who hadn’t, we started with me, chay, lewyeah, ozone and jenski. it wasn’t long before ozone had to leave for IRL and lew got VYe's backup francey in to play for us, and with some of the team in full time work we decided we needed a 6th player, taking shaun3h in, who may not be a beast but brings a great level of keen into the team. We then replaced jenski with vukann as he just didn’t seem to suit the teams style of play. As a reasonably new team we joined NCE on a trial basis of 2 weeks, after over a month had passed and they still wanted us to trial "just for 2 weeks longer" we decided that nothing seemed to be happening and decided to leave them. As a team decision we decided it would be best to wait until we were in academy before approaching any organisations to represent, having recently achieved this goal we joined forces with DWAVE, who are great lads and I am glad they have given us this opportunity to represent their organisation. Hopefully with the backing of a decent org, we can continue to progress and do them, ourselves and the community proud."

2. Team Decerto Recover By Picking Up 1puRe Real

As most of you will remember from some one and a half weeks ago, the Team Decerto organisation posted on the TEK9 forums that they had decided to let their team go and would be looking for a new team to replace them. As it turned out, they did not need very long to find a proper replacement, already announcing who it will be.

The Spanish players of the 1puRe Real organisation were glad to find this opportunity, not being content with their current situation in the French organisation due to the apparent lack of structure and nourishment. The players surrounding Fernando "supra" Hidalgo are relieved to now represent the Team Decerto name both on- as well as offline for the coming months.

Spain Fernando "supra" Hidalgo
Spain Axel "duran" Duran
Spain Josep "tracyz" Magrina
Spain Sergio "Niwor" Robledo
Spain Pedro "dracu" Sanchez
Spain Ander "nAcked" Gallego

New Team Decerto captain, Fernando "supra" Hidalgo, had some words to comment about why they moved over to Team Decerto:

"Sometimes things didn’t work well in 1pure. Even worst, there was not structure in the organization and also a bit of chaos, mostly because of 2 teams playing COD4 at a serious level. For that reason we were looking for a better organization and our team and the people at Team Decerto have the same opinion and future plans. My team have a great feeling regarding this organization and of course we will work hard to make Team Decerto bigger in the COD4 scene. Now with Team Decerto having our back we're pretty motivated to put a lot more effort in this game and we're willing to represent Team Decerto offline and online the best way we can."

3. Exotic Island Move Back To Call of Duty 4 With New Team

The Portuguese organisation is a household name in Portugal and has had several Call of Duty teams in the past, however, in recent times, it seemed as if they were uneager to contract any Portuguese or foreign teams to their name. That is until now, as last week they picked up the gauntlet once more and have signed a fully Portuguese team.

Sérgio "wz" Santos' troups were known as Definevision before they got the offer and are a known group to attend both the online and offline affairs in Portugal. They are currently preparing for their next meeting in Odivelas, Portugal from May, 13th until May, 15th for the GS LAN Arena and will hope to make their new organisation proud.

Portugal Sérgio "wz" Santos
Portugal Filipe "hoofyee" Costa
Portugal Hugo "sAINt" Ivo
Portugal Miguel "Fox" Carvalho
Portugal João "MFKR" Almeida

On the Exotic Island website, Sérgio "wz" Santos, gave out a small statement about how he feels to represent the organisation:

"First of all I would like to thank the trust demonstrated in our team and say that it is a pleasure to see big organizations bet on CoD4. I must refer that this team is highly motivated in a way to dignify the organization's name. For this we will be present at the GS Lan Arena that is going to happen days 13,14,15 of may in Odivelas, where we will demonstrate all of our potential."

4. subtas Formed With Dutchmen, Brits And A Belgian

News from the creative side of Call of Duty 4, as five players from tri-area that is Belgium, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom have gone together to develop a new team and hope to make a lasting impression on the scene. Former eMpathy players, Mat "luNaRrRR" Booty and Mathieu "Diavolo" Kolber will be joined by the Dfiance player that is Glen "dweepZ" Roelandt.

To complete the line-up, they managed to secure Tom "gunneR" van Es, who is mostly known for his time in New Cool Collective right after the Summer of 2010, as well as Benjamin "Daze" Cheshire, who is regarded as being an upcoming talent and who has not had any real noteworthy teams in the past. Together they will be aiming to find a good organisation and perhaps attend one of the Summer events.

Belgium Glen "dweepZ" Roelandt
Netherlands Tom "gunneR" van Es
Netherlands Mathieu "Diavolo" Kolber
United Kingdom Benjamin "Daze" Cheshire
United Kingdom Mat "luNaRrRR" Booty

Mat "luNaRrRR" Booty, had a statement to give to TEK9 about his new team and how he got in touch with them:

" I'm extremely excited to be playing in this new team, I've previously been to gaming events in teams with Diavolo in eMpathy CiC7 and Daze at Intel Friday Night Games, and against dweepz and gunner at various events. It will be interesting to see how we get on and we soon hope to be in preinvite/invite so we can start practising for upcoming LANs. Thanks to everyone who supports us and will hopefully play you soon."

5. indoMadness Become ZEN And Swap 2 Players

Not feeling quite so comfortable in the indoMadness organisation, the boys surrounding Jacco "bRoEdER" Broeder decided to leave and continue as ZEN until a new and better organisation comes along to pick them up. They headed to The Party 9 with good hope of doing well and wanted to show the BeNeLux community they were a team to stay.

Things did not pan out as they wanted to, finishing only just above TOP 8, the team felt they needed some changes to keep things fresh. Luckily for the team, after just one week, they managed to secure both Renzo "zANE" van den Berg, who came to the team from NCE.I3D, and Roel "DAKKAz" van Huet, who left the iGamerz line-up to represent ZEN from now on. The team's first test will come at the upcoming e-series KaoS COD4 LAN #4, where they hope to do better than their The Party 9 run.

Netherlands Jacco "bRoEdER" Broeder
Netherlands Brian "kayote" Heuver
Netherlands Rick "liquor" Lowissen
Netherlands Roel "DAKKAz" van Huet
Netherlands Renzo "zANE" van den Berg

Rick "liquor" Lowissen wanted to leave a comment about what happened in the ZEN line-up in the last couple of days:

" After a very disappointing lan at the party in the netherlands we decided things had to change. With 4 people left after the party (slaai lan stand-in) broeder was picking up his scope again and dandan took the ak role. so we needed an smg, luckily we picked up dakkaz quite soon and we were back with 5 again. After playing on, we thought things still didn't feel right and we didn't play a lot either. So we were forced to make another line-up change. We changed dandan with zANE which was a really hard choice because we were really good friends with dandan and had a great time on lan. Now we're practicing really hard for the upcoming e-series LAN and we'll try to get a better result. On a sidenote, we are still looking for an organisation to support us to any other upcoming lan event, so if you're interested, contact me on xfire : liquid07"

6. Hard-Knocks Pick Up Serbian Division

Even though they already possess over a German team, the Hard-Knocks organisation felt they had the support to take on a second team and felt they found the right mix of players in a Serbian line-up. Mihailo "heiz" Stojkovic's players had previously been seen carrying the AEROSOL eSports banner but decided to leave after they broke their promises to the young team.

Simultaneously with joining up, the team has also picked up a new player. Nikola "TAJLER" Dimitrijevic is his name and he remains quite unknown to the general public, but the rest of his team believes he has the skills to break through and play a vital role in the Hard-Knocks line-up. Together they will attend a local event on June, 4th and hope to take home the gold, proving they are the number one team in Serbia.

{{flag_rs}} Predrag "ARNEZi" Matic
{{flag_rs}} Strahinja "nokss" Radusinovic
{{flag_rs}} Antonije "Blakson" Kijanovic
{{flag_rs}} Nikola "TAJLER" Dimitrijevic

Mihailo "heiz" Stojkovic, the team's captain, gave out a statement about joining up with Hard-Knocks:

" After few line-up changes and after baiting from our former organisation for paying TLR challenge, AEROSOL eSports, we have decided to continue playing for HardKnocks, and we are proud to play for that organisation. At the moment we picked up new player, Nikola "TAJLER" Dimitrijevic who is young and unknown on scene. With line-up change we got quite good results. With pride I can say that we have a real strange and stable line-up. The time will show our possibilities, especially Lan Event in Serbia, 4th of Jun. We are looking forward to Summer Lan Events, which HardKnocks will make possible for us."

VULKANNN of DWAVE told me that they had removed FRANCEY (in contrast to what they told me at the beginning of the week) and had replaced him with brall1 from Iceland, when asking if he was the brall1 or bralli that is named Bragi Emilsson, he told me that it was indeed him...so ye, I cannot go & ask every member from the team if they are indeed there; if he's not in the team, then I will remove him and DWAVE should have been more clear

Ok, well, I don´t know :P But last I checked, I didn´t see him in that team, but maybe he´s there

it's supposed to mean serbia; but it's the system's fault for some reason, and I cannot seem to fix it ...I have put the flag in the flag database, it's called rs.gif and whenever I try to access it through the code, it won't show so ye ...will need to find the coder to fix that problem :)

bralli has replaced francey as he was far 2 inactive, if you read up he has not updated his xfire to say so as his xfire is currently not working.

EDIT: (its icelandic bralli, just incase there are more than one)
