TEK9's March QuakeLive ranking sees results from the IEM World Championship reshape the top ten dramatically.
March's top ten sees newly-crowned QuakeLive world champion Shane "rapha" Hendrixson power back to top spot as expected after his stunning win at CeBIT. The SK star collected a perfect 50 in the voting and can now boast a level of dominance not seen since Johan "toxic" Quick set the scene alight back in 2006.
Hendrixson's resurgence sees the Eastern Europeans confined to second, third and fourth respecitvely for Anton "Cooller" Singov, Alexey "Cypher" Yanushevsky and Maciej "av3k" Krzykowski. Singov is the big mover of the top four after his appearance in the finals in Hannover while Yanushevsky is still judged worthy of third place by the voters despite having to settle for fourth last week.
The remaining players were held in mixed regard by the panel, with Magnus "fox" Olsson moving into fifth by just a single point as Tim "DaHanG" Fogarty's uninspired appearance in the World Championship saw him slip to sixth. Darkhorse Kevin "strenx" Baeza moved into seventh despite failing to live up to the hype at CeBIT but is closely followed by "stermy", "Jibo" and "griffin".
Votes for the TEK9 rankings are collected each month from our community panel as well as (starting next month) the previous month's top ten players. The scoring system is simple, with 10 points for a first place vote, 9 for a second place vote and so on. Information on the voting panel can be found on page two along with some thoughts from each of them on how and why they voted.

I should consider traveling to the USA and trying to qualify from there.

You say players votes, but what players? And do they have to pick only from the IEM participants or just anyone else they want in the world ? Do your votes matter more than the players votes ?
Because clearly you should consider removing from the voters the ones who are completely clueless about QuakeLive and whose conceptions of 'following the scene' all come down to viewing the IEM WORLD FINALS results, regardless of who actually got a chance to play and who did not.
Nice that you answered though :)
