First things first, the Hostile Faction situation… There hasn’t really been any official statement on what happened and why. Anything you’d like to clear up?
PATR: I pretty much found out by looking at Xfire that my team were playing with two other players in a plan to replace myself and Gevers back when we were Infused. I called up the guys and they confirmed they needed a breath of fresh air after SeC to see if they could reach another level with a new roster. That didn’t work out for them and now we’re pretty much back together.
I made a big fuss about it on Tek-9 and pretty much got them kicked out the organisation…
Do you think you were made a scapegoat when you were removed?
PATR: I don’t think it was that bad for me. It’s pretty much a normal change and you see people change after LAN all the time. I guess I just felt cheated so to speak because I was with them the whole time.

Do you regret your reaction looking back?
PATR: I was really harsh and I regret flaming AagaarD as much as I did but we have made up now. Some people don’t seem to realise this and question why we play together again but everything is fine now..
You’ve come to this event as the fourth seed, something that has caused a lot of debate. Do you think it was a fair seeding and do you see yourself as the fourth best team here?
Piika: I think fourth is quite fair and I only joined two months ago but if you look at our results and the LAN pedigree in the team fourth is about right. I mean, if you look at Blight who was fighting us for that fourth seed they only have online results so I think it’s fair how it worked out. Blight are currently beating fnatic at the moment so who knows…
Do you think you’re the better team even in light of that?
Piika: We played them during a boot camp and they won one map, we won the other one. We played them here and it was a draw. It’s two different styles of play and we’re close in terms of skill.
PATR: I said it on Tek-9 when everyone questioned our fourth seed that it doesn’t really matter. We’re both pretty much even so it was down to a coin toss really. They’re here and performing, which is great and if there was a way that we could both be fourth then I’d go for that but obviously someone has to make the decision.

What do you guys do to bridge the gap between yourselves and the top teams in order to perform at LAN. How do you emulate, for example, that H2k line-up that broke through?
PATR: Most teams just fall out over really basic things like communication and that sort of thing. Having a team is like having a bunch of friends if you can’t stay on par with them the friendship won’t survive. You have to do things together in friendship like we did… We were actually bowling here a few weeks back. Just enjoying each other’s company is a huge part in a team’s survival.
Piika: H2k were together for ages with like one line-up change, which was froz, an amazing player. We just need to stick together and we will hopefully get there.
I think there’s gaps opening up to in the scene as well, as happens every Summer in CoD4, so there’s room for you to break through.
PATR: We will be sticking together. You learn so much from events like this and from bootcamps… We want to be the best, that what motivates us. I expected us to get this far in the tournament and I’m now expecting us to do more because of how we performed. We were worried about playing XAYA but we came out strong and we’re feeling confident.
Piika: I thought XAYA might beat us on their map but the teamwork is what pushed us through.
If you could write a Hollywood script of how you would like this LAN to go for you guys, what would happen in that story?
PATR: The thing to do now is beat TCM, knock them down to the lower. It might seem a Hollywood story in itself but all we want to focus on is beating them next.
Do you have any plans on how to handle an in-form TCM Gaming?
PATR: They may well be the second best team in Europe, or the best depending on who you ask, but no team is unbeatable. You have to take your chances and just have the right timing. Sometimes it can come down to luck but at this stage in an event it comes down to tactics. They are a really well drilled team… I’ll be honest, if we lost 13-11 I’d even be happy with that because it would show what we can do.
Piika: We’re going to play our own game…
What is the Dynamic game?
Piika: It’s different now I’ve joined. We used to be aggressive and now we play more varied. Sometimes we go slow, sometimes we go fucking fast. We push and go for it within 25 seconds one round, then the next we camp it out for over a minute. We just want to frustrate an opponent.
PATR: That’s the word. Frustrate them. Make them seem like you’re random when you’re not and just think tactically. We’ve got a lot of tactics, we just seem to lose out when it comes to those personal 1v1 and 2v2 situations.
If you couldn’t win who would you want to win it and why?
PATR: I’d like to see TCM win it as pretty much all the rest of the community would. It’d be great to see them finally win a LAN. I’d say they got cheated out of AEF. They beat fnatic and had a hard bracket. I don’t want to diss Power Gaming but their play style is…
Piika: Fucking boring.
PATR: Yeah.
Piika: You see them play and they just camp one spot and all throw four nades at one spot, or just play really slow every round. It’s just not good to watch.
PATR: Some might feel they deserve to win because they are keen and spend five hours just practicing spots and angles and I sort of agree. But they are a hated team I guess and many don’t like them because of how they are with others.
Piika: The best team should win so we shall see what happens.
good luck
Froster and paradox are arrogant fucks and i cant remember the last.
