Call of Duty 4 custom skies tutorial - Introduction

Everyone has seen 'custom skies' in CoD4 movies, well this guide will tell you how to make real in-game skies (no more green-screening!). This will eliminate the badly tracked skies you see all too often in movies, and give your skies a real authentic look. Its quite a long process the first time round, but once you’ve done it a few times the whole process should only take about 5 minutes.

First thing first, you need the following programs:

- Kigo Image Convertor
- Terragen
- CoD4 Mod tools (http://media.iwnation.com/COD4/)
- A batch text re-namer.
I have uploaded the Terragen installer, the Kigo installer, the text re-namer and a few other files to a .zip which you can find (HERE).

Sick stuff Paul :)

Btw, if anyone has trouble reading the text on the images, just open the picture in another window and you'll see the full size.

Great tut. I don't think I've seen any custom skyboxes that actually look good in movies. Hopefully this will change.

If you have a problem running the script, open it up in notpad, and change "initanim "C:\skyrender", 1" to some other destination, eg "initanim "C:\Users\Administrator\Documents", 1"

Maybe you need /devmap + make sure the .iwi files are named correctly.

Everything went just fine,

Something went wrong during the last step.
When i click makeMod, i get an error saying: 'ERROR: Could not open '.././zone_source/mod.csv'

Help plz.
