page 4: The Complexity Residence

You started 2007 with a pleasant announcement: the complexity house which is a rather big home for the five Counterstroke players. Was this a private investment?

The house was actually rented and not purchased.  At first I helped pay for the rent, but after CGS started and the players had plenty of cash, they took over the payments.

Was the decision of moving the players into the house a decision made with the CGS in the back of your mind or were you already about to take that step with or without CGS?

Yes, CGS was the main reason we moved the team to Dallas.  We wanted to dominate in 2007, and I think the team did that.

Do players others than those playing CSS reside in the coL house? If not, are you planning to move any of them over?

Nope, just CSS right now.  I don’t think we’ll move anyone else in.

What has been the reaction of the players on the house? What positive and if so negative reactions did you get after a year of complexity house existence?

They really love living together and have become best friends.  I think it has helped their game a lot, too.

Is the house there to stay? Are you planning to keep the house for the rest of the complexity days? What does its future look like?

We have the house through this summer, and will decide after that what the players want to do.

I think he answered pretty good, if u see how many closed questions are stated he just could've answered with "yes" or "no"

nice interview tony :)
enjoyed it

good interview

Really not that interested on the CGS as a whole though. Computer games will always be more interesting for the user. The idea of watching a console/pc game being played by some other people will always be boring in my eyes.
I find it interesting that Lake mentions that a "45" minute game is not acceptable on live television, yet people who watch SPORTS can watch 90 minutes of a game of football, 80 minutes of Rugby, 4 quarters of American Football and Basketball, including all the in-between match analysis.

The cgs is by far the best thing that happened to esports since the beginning! And this is just the start, imagine what is still to come ..

Great interview anthony, really, really enjoyed reading it !

He seems like a true fan of esports and the fact he carried his team on his shoulders without the big sponsors and still managed to get them to the top is amazing, great manager.

Every place you put soul and hard work will pay off, hes an example of that.

Yes, in my opinion our CS:S team is the best in the world, but that can change fast if we get lazy or complacent.

Really really good interview!
Its good that gaming is evolving so fast, but its affecting your life. Real job > gaming!
#35 Netherlands vodka 2008-02-10 00:40:06
real job / life / school etc etc should >> gaming but i guess in 75% of the serious gamers situations its the other way around
