page 2: Personal

Before we are going to the ClanBase subject I’m going to fire some personal questions for starters. Please tell us: “Is Killerman a hard working guy or still a studying one ?”
Since the summer of 2006 I've been a hard working guy. Before that I studied "Hogere Informatica" (Computer Science) for 4 years and graduated from there. Shortly after I started working fulltime for ClanBase and have been ever since.
Congratulations with your degree :)! So you became a full time worker for Clanbase. How did your parents and friends react on your decision to work full time as a Clanbase Head Admin and as a gamer in general ?
During my study I had been working for ClanBase parttime already for quite a while. So in that regard not much changes expect for the amount of time I was able to invest in it. Most of my friends know more or less what ClanBase is. It is often harder to explain it to family who have no idea of the gaming scene. It's not always easy to explain what ClanBase does exactly to them and how the gaming scene is like. For them gaming is nothing more than playing just a little game alone on your computer for a while. I usually explain the basics. Most of them are just very interested and suprised about how serious gaming can be and how much money really is involved nowadays.
So all in one you tried to explain it to them and succeeded convincing them of a sort of “positive view” on gaming and they respect you for what you do for eSports ?
Yeah. I haven't met anyone yet who's looking down on what I'm doing. It's just new for a lot of people hearing about how much there is involved in competitive gaming. There are ofcourse the usual responses of "Isn't it bad for those people to play games for so many hours a day to train?". But it's the same with many people having a regular job sitting in front of computer screens in an office too. And they usually seem to grasp that.
How does a typical day “at work” looks like in your case ? How many hours do you spend working for ClanBase ?
It's hard to say how many hours I spent exactly on ClanBase. But certainly as much as any fulltime job; probably more. I mostly get up between 9-10 to start working on ClanBase. And work the entire morning and most of the afternoon. I often am around doing ClanBase stuff in the evening too. So a lot of hours a day are spent on ClanBase. I do try to have a 30 minute pause now and then. I promised myself to keep at least the Fridayevenings and Saturdayevenings off. To go out, hang with friends or go to my favourite soccerclub ;) and in most cases I do.
