Roycolt from wAvegaming
Could you introduce yourself?
Hi my name is Amel „Roycolt“ Brkic and I live in middle Bosnia in a town called Zenica. I have been active in gaming for almost 7 years, but I'm in the COD2 scene for 2 years now. At this time I have been playing in Rhenium-gaming ( www.Rhenium-gaming.com) for the last 3 months.
How competitive is the cod2 community in Bosnia? Any Online competitions or LANs?
In Bosnia and Herzegovina we don't have so much LAN competitions at this time, because we don't have sponsors who can organise that, travels are not such a problem because it's a small country, but the problem of organization and competitions is that there are not such sponsors as STEELSERIES, QPAD, ABIT and others that can provide that to us compared to other countries. At the beggining of 200 we had first DEATHMATCH challenge in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where all players born in BiH could play, and the prizes were attractive. First award was a GeForce 7950GS and the other 7 were Call of Duty 2 original games + some extra small awards. The Organizer of this competition was the best Bosnian internet provider BiHnet www.bihnet.ba This summer we have an ONLINE Bihnet league in which 16 BiH clans are competing, and there are 3-4 very strong clans. There is a possibillity that the same sponsor will orgnanize LAN league finals.
How big is the cod2 community in Bosnia? Are there any other clans besides you?
In BiH there are many strong clans, but not enough serious ones that could challenge the top of the european scene but reasons for that are „high force“ nature. Most famous and strongest in BiH are: e-Headhunters ( www.e-headhunters.net ), Former Dragons Squad ( www.fds.int.ba ) , the best total war clan OLDies (www.oldiesclan.com), And one more strong total war team Sultans of Bash.
Is it easy for to get support from Bosnian Organizations?
Main problem in BiH is getting support from some companies and sponsors, because only one that provides some help is BiHnet as I mentioned earlier, but we hope that some changes in future will help to attract .eu sponsors to the BiH community.
Do you think you have equal chances as countries like the UK, Finland etc.. to practice and become better?
No, at this moment I think in BiH we don't have such stable connections, and servers that can provide us with good pings. Internet connection is the biggest problem in Bosnia now, and that's the main reason we cannot seriously compete with players from England, Finland and other gaming countries.
Many players are competitive, and of course we have potential to be among the strongest, but that can only be reality when our connection towards Europe stabilizes.
