Could you tell me a bit about the history of your team?
In the beginning there was a team called “gLAmouRe” which was founded by bobrik, but already soon it folded when 2 people left. Those who stayed were morph, bobrik and Ryan. I decided to start my own Ukrainian team due to my strong desire to continue playing COD2, and so in 2006 team “eXplosive” was organized. Now the team has a stable line-up consisting of: morph, bobrik, Ryan, kuku and zz top.
How competitive is the cod2 community in Ukraine? Any Online competitions or LANs?
There’s about 15 serious teams in Ukraine now. The community in Ukraine has recently just started to develop and that’s why we don’t have real strong competition yet. Recently the online championship “COD2 UA League” started and there are also some LANs like “Ukrainian COD2 LAN Masters”.
How big is the cod2 community in Ukraine? Are there any other clans besides you?
Like I said, about 15 serious teams. Besides eXplosive there is KFFM, SS, zero, DT, VP from Kyiv. VDV, NoName, DWS from Illychevsk. Masters from Crimea and QuaDroPro from Nikoleav. There is also a Ukrainian cod2 community site www.cod2.com.ua created by SERGIO and Serg! from KFFM, soon I joined them and another site was created about Call of Duty and team eXplosive: http://exp.petrovka.ua.
Do you think you have equal chances as countries like the UK, Finland etc.. to practice and become better?
European countries are way more developed as our country, like our connection is very unstable so it’s hard to compete with the best. But it is possible to have decent wars versus European teams. As for our skill, in my opinion we are at the same level as other countries but our community is very young and that’s why we can’t expect a really good result at the moment.
