Could you tell me a bit about the history of your team?
We are all former CoD: United Offensive players. Back then we were known as Eesti Poisid xD and we played UO for fun. When cod2 was released in November 2006, everything changed and we split up into two teams. One team wanted to play cod2, the others kept playing United Offensive. We started to play as Team-Aquila (I was one of them until 2007), but some players went inactive about a year ago. In Fall 2006, the old United Offensive players formed a cod2 team called team-frantic. I joined up with them after leaving Aquila in the beginning of 2007. When I joined frantic, we all got a huge motivation boost and we took our game to a higher level. One month ago we were picked up by the Finnish multi-gaming organization Random Gaming.

How competitive is the cod2 community in Estonia? Any Online competitions or LANs?

Well, when cod2 was released, Aquila was the only cod2 team in Estonia for about half a year. Soon those “public” clans started to play wars and leagues. Cod2 hasn’t been such a successful game like ET or CS 1.6 in Estonia. I guess we lack the organizers for LANs. But in March 2007 the first cod2 LAN was held in Estonia and there were 4 teams attending. At the moment, one of the Estonian teams is preparing a 2on2 cup so the future looks bright. More and more teams are starting to play cod2 here. Also its possible that there will be a new Estonian LAN somewhere in the fall.

How big is the cod2 community in Estonia? Are there any other clans besides you?
The community isn’t big. I can count the decent teams on my fingers. Of course there are tons of public clans like in all other countries. During cod2 history we have had 3 public servers of which 2 are running at the moment.

Is it easy for you to get support from Organizations from your country?
It isn’t so easy. You just need at least 5 active players and a decent homepage to obtain Ventrillo channels and bouncers for free. But it is very hard to look for sponsored game servers. As far as I know there is only 1 organization that offers Estonian servers for cod2. I have tried to ask them to sponsor us with a free server a couple of times, but they haven’t responded. Also having an Estonian cod2 server is pretty pointless because only Swedes, Finns, Russians and Latvians have good pings on it. Other European countries don’t want to play with ping 70-80. And for material or LAN support, it’s like talking to a wall..

Do you think you have equal chances as countries like the UK, Finland etc.. to practice and become better?
No we don’t. As a matter of fact, we have a big disadvantage. It’s called PING. Best pings for us are in Estonian, Finnish, and Swedish servers (usually around 30-40). In German and Dutch servers, we have ping around 50-60 and in UK servers around 80-90. Due to this we are forced to play in German and Dutch servers with ping 50-60 when our opponent has ping 33. The possibility of finding a war on a Swedish server is almost 0(excuse = lag, ping 60,  ..). So yes, it’s a disadvantage for us.

Despite from that, it is not impossible to reach the top in Europe. Look at what Team-Aquila accomplished in the fall of 2006.
