page 1: Introduction

Very little is known publicly about Mark Peter de Fries, COO to one of the largest gaming organisations in the world, namely MeetYourMakers, who has been notoriously tight-lipped to the community about his personal life. With this being said, it is with great pleasure that I present to you a rare and exclusive interview with the man who brought mainstream entrepreneurship and corporate management to gaming.
Starting off as a gamer himself, playing for teams such as GoDs in Rainbow Six, Mark founded the now global organisation that is known as MeetYourMakers. After teaming up with fellow managers Army and Kepler, the team have turned the small counter-strike team into multinational brand with the help of its mother company, Regroup-eSports, a company Mark also founded.
Real Name: Mark Peter de Fries Nickname: Mercy Location: Copenhagen, Denmark Age: 34 Team: MeetYourMakers
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 Prescott 3,4 @ 4.2 GHz, 1000 FSB GFX: MSI 7600GS PCI-Express 256 MB DDR3 Monitor: Viewsonic VX 922 19" TFT Case: Lian Li V1000 Black Aluminium HDD: 2 x 160 GB Hitachi 10000 SATA Memory: 2 GB Dane-Elec DDR 533 Headset: SENNHEISER PC 166 USB Mouse: Razer Copperhead Tempest Blue Mousepad: MYM Steelpad 5C Keyboard: Razer Tarantula Connection: 24 Mbit OS: Windows Vista
Hey, please introduce yourself and tell us a little about what exactly working for MYM entails. What are your day to day duties for the team?
My name is Mark Peter Fries; I am 34 years old, living in wonderful Copenhagen Denmark together with my fiancé. Besides being the founder of MYM and Regroup Esports A/S, I am today carrying the title COO, where most of my work and daily doings are within Regroup Esports A/S on the operational plan, meaning make things happen, ensure deadlines, coordination, projection, development and overall controlling the company and the various departments.
My time in MYM with the teams is very limited; I mainly speak with the managers of the gaming divisions and our content manager and top editorial staff. This is not because I don’t want to mingle with the rest, but my time simply doesn’t allow me to be too involved in the minor details, as there unfortunately still are only 24 hours in a day. Majority of my time goes within the mother company Regroup Esports A/S and Regroup Events ApS, where we besides MYM have a lot of other brands to handle.

great interview with a great person ;)
MYM has everything to dominate 2008 in the major disciplines, let's see how they come out of it.
PS: the pic on page 7 is from ESWC 2006 Grand Final, not 2007
