Hey Antti, could you introduce yourself to our readers and tell us a few things about your gaming history?

"Well my name is Antti Sinisalo and most people know me by the alias of sec or as an alternative seccitaj. I am currently 20 years old and turning 21 on 30th of August. I started gaming with quakeworld team fortress and played it for about 3 years, this all began when I was like 14 years old. Then I moved to Counter-Strike when it came out and played on a high level (in online tournament within finnish region), top5 position in cb and such bullshit. I played counter strike like 3 years and after 2 years of CS i also started to play a bit Quake 3 osp and Quake 3 Rocket arena besides CS. I was rather succesfull with my Q3ra journey aswell and played it for clans like DSky and D-Tec. We also participated some CB Eurocups in q3ra. After that, CoD came and I got hooked and here we are. Dunno why, as the game has certain bugs I really hate. Been playing CoD since it came out and at the moment im mostly looking forward for Quake 4 and maybe gonna test CoD2 aswell".

Your a manager, a newsposter and the webdesigner of junk52. Next to that you are also team captain of the j52 Call of Duty team. Do you ever sleep?

"I think actually that I sleep more than the average person. But I am fast in doing things, whatever I decide to do. But yes, on normal day I am a fulltime worker for stuff related to junk52, but when i'm not doing these things I either hang out with my girlfriend or do my freelance job, webdesigning".

What motivates you to do all those things?

"The fun of it. I enjoy when I get the positive feedback for all things I do. Im doing most of the stuff for junk52 as non-profit job, therefore I don't actually receive any "materia" for it. The sceneposting and such is only a way to satisfy the need of the community and therefore the positive feedback I receive is the key that keeps me going. I also do some graphic design stuff for art group called depthCore. You can read more about it from
www.depthCore.com. And what comes to the managing junk52 as a team, dealing with sponsors and such, I do it because I like to achieve things. It gives me a great pleasure to get a new sponsor. And, afterall, many ppl will profit from my work (read: our teams)".

The design of the junk52 site (junk52.com) changes very often. What is the main idea behind all these changes? So people don’t get bored?

"Mainly it is because I, the designer get bored with it. There are alot of things (programming-wise), that I want to change. These things are not visible for the ordinary site visitor. Usually I just redesign the site when I finish a renewed version of my Content Management System (php-software I develop on dailybasis)".

Seems to me that you have quite some experience building and coding webpages. Have you created other sites besides the junk52 project?

"Well I have created sites only for my own use, mostly. Eventhough I am running certain amount of external jobs. In the past I have created sites for companies like Ulti-mat Ltd (
www.ulti-mat.com) and Latchways (www.putoamissuojaus.fi). Currently I am working on the renewal of the 4kings website, the british pride you know. You can find most of my past works at www.karmacoma.junk52.com , eventhough that site is only in finnish".

Your the junk52.cod in-game leader and considered one of the best riflers in the European Call of Duty scene. How can you conbine this with all the other tasks and still be successfull?

"Well the fact that I lead a call of duty squad is maybe from my previous history. I've always consider myself as a leader-ish person. I've also ran multiple succesfull CS teams in my past. And what comes to my personal skills, I dont really have to keep my skills up, as I mostly play with my head and experience, which also supports my succes from game to game. And my rifle skills...hmm, thats maybe from my rail-addiction in Quake 3, as they work quite similarly :P

A while back, junk52 played against OCRANA.ATI for a spot in the EC LANfinals (taking place September 16th and 17th). The team lost, 19-21, which means they don’t get to participate at the EC LAN. Your thoughts?

"Shit happens. The only thing I am sad about is that if carentan was to be replaced with any of the other maps in that particular war, we would have taken it. And we did pretty good considering the small amount of preparation behalf of the junk52 teams".

Team9 (former WHO Crew), u96d (former schoolgirlz), OCRANA.ATI and riZe (former Team PC Gamer) all qualified for the EuroCup LANfinals in September. Your prediction?

"Shouldnt be that hard thing for riZe to win. Team9 havent been that active, u96d has lost their light and Ocrana.ATi didn't really prove themselves at LAN event, quite the opposite :D So therefore I expect riZe to take it and team9 runner-up".

Earlier this year you created iddqd.fnc together with other well known finnish players. The main idea was to play the game more active, with junk52.cod being pretty inactive at that time. Two players from the original iddqd.fnc team –wink and sacrifice- later joined up with the junk52 team. What will happen with the #iddqd.fnc team? Will they continue playing or is it end of story?

"IDDQD was never meant to be a serious team. It will still remain as a home for IDDQD Online Tour, and maybe in the future, a WC3L type-ish ladder system for CoD or Q4. But, nevertheless, we, a group of mates, will still be playing some matches with IDDQD".

Like i just said, the team changed a couple of times, compared to the old and very successfull line-up. Allthough it’s a bit late, could you tell us more about these changes and the impact on the performance of the team? It looks like the changes didn’t really affect the performances…

"Well when I played with wink and sacrifice in IDDQD I saw they would fit perfectly in junk52, gameplay-wise I mean. They have still lot to learn from the view of tactics and teamplay, but we are getting there. Still I consider teamplay, even at the current shape, one of the strongest points in junk52.CoD".

Could you introduce your fellow teammates of j52.cod with their in-game strengths?

- Me, sec, I am ingame leader and my ingame strengths are maybe high skills in things related to rifles, snipers and long-range fighting in general.

- soBuli is one of the hardworkers in matches, always the one who plays clever and frags the most.

- tRoy is the our nademaster, always taking the first blood with nades and he is always very stable in general, when it comes to closerange fighting.

- joonaz, the most newcomer-ish player in our team. Never played in any "decent" team before junk52. He is a fast learner and if you give him a job, he will certainly succeed. One of his other strengths is his unpredictable playingstyle.

- wink, when you spectate wink while he plays you will really notice he trust his skills more than his brains. He usually acts before thinks, but thank god it almost always is a succesful act.

- Sacrifice, on the other hand is playing more with his brains and unique tactics, always trying to use a suprise-element for his advantage.

Ofcourse no one knows what the future will bring, but does the team have any intentions of switching to another game after the summer? Or will they continue playing COD when the sequel is released?

"No, we havent even considered a change to another game. But like mentioned, if quake 4 turns out to be as awesome as I expect it to be, it will be my main game in the future".

Still plenty of action in the EU COD scene, with several cups organised every week. Can we expect another Skunk Cup, with the previous ones being very successfull?

"I can't promise anything about the actual and original SKUNK-Cup, but skunk.challenge and iddqd online tour will still be going on strong after i've started my school again and done all the pre-shit for the upcoming school period. But yes, lets hope I find some spare time for original SKUNK52 Cup sequel".

Junk52 recently kicked their CS team and took in MARVEL. After having a line-up problem, with ruuit leaving to Astralis, the team took in 3 new players. Could you tell us more about these changes?

"Well most people were almost sure that after ruuit left, the story of junk52.CS had come to its end. Well, actually none of the management crew ever even had this in our mind and therefore we gave toNppa the full power and privileges to gather required players to keep the squad alive. With these players I and the rest of the management team behind junk52 believe that the achievements of junk52.CS will only be going up, instead of down, what it a while ago seemed like. And as a team I consider our current CS team stronger as the one we had, therefore everything is smooth so far".

Junk52 has becomes pretty big. It features a COD/CS 1.6/CS:S and UT2004 team. What are your intentions (for the future)?

"I am running some thoughts and preparations for a certain new team for junk52. After that we have no intentions to grow, untill we see what Quake 4 looks like. (me and 2up, the managers, have q3 history, so we might gather a squad for it). At the moment we have all the most important esports games covered in our roster so no need to make it any bigger. And all of our teams are one of the best in Finland, or in scandinavia (ut2004), therefore we don't even have a reason to change anything from it's current form".

I would like to thank you for your time and cooperation. Good luck with Junk52! Tek-9 Networks Ltd. wishes the clan the best of luck! Any shoutouts you would like to add?

"Thank you, was a pleasure to have a little chat with you. Andi for the end of this interview i would like to thank Ulti-mat for their long lasting support for Junk52 Theatre, and same goes for X3MServers and other sponsors. Also a big hand should be given to Vault5 that has been able to cover the needs of our community site. And for the readers, keep the positive atmosphere up and enjoy life".
