Hello Joepoe, Please introduce yourself to our readers and tell us something about your gaming-history?
Hi I am Joep "oe" van den Eerenbeemt, 19 years old and living in the Netherlands. For the past year I've been playing WoW fulltime, CoD2 came and passed but I couldn’t care much, my addiction was too strong. Before that I was quite the known player in vCoD leading teams as KREATUREN to victories. This later became fnatic.cod and it was this team with which I attended to EOGC in London finishing in one of the last spots due to unforeseen circumstances and bad training. Later on The Hybrid we did show we should have made it further into the Tournament.
First off all, Congratulations by joining ND they are one of the hottest teams out their at the moment what do you think of this team?
I think this is a team which has not shown its full potential, from what I have heard they have had a problem finding a good 5th player, a problem that I in fnatic had as well. I think that if I could get back on the level I was in vCod we could grow out to be an even stronger team then nd. used to be. I am both surprised and pleased that I after only 2,5 weeks of playing Cod2 I got multiple possibilities to join top10 clans.
You played vCod on a high level for Kreaturen but after some time your team decided to quit. Now you’re back on the scene again, What do you think is the biggest improvement between Cod2 and vCod ?
I think the Ability to smoke whole sections of the map makes this game a lot more intense then vCod used 2 be. Since it makes camping less and rushing more efficient.
After some time in Kreaturen you moved on to Fnatic one of the biggest MGC out their. What was it like joining something this big? What kind of support did you get from them?
It was GREAT, I’ve had so much fun with those guys there, we had barbecues together and played soccer matches. You must remember though that we were one of the first teams ever to join Fnatic. This was back in the days when zr0 still had to pay everything himself, they did pay our EOGC attendance back then but other then that we never received anything. We could have gone to Italy for the LAN there paying half of the price ourselves but we called it a day together when the motivation fell down.
How did you first got in contact with cod2 again? Did you wanted to play again with your old buddies Doekoe etc? Or was it just a solo-action?
Funny story, I saw Plazma Amsg'ing for a 5on5 CoD2 war in IRC (the first time I logged back on the IRC again since about a year) and pmm'ed him:" j000 plaz hows cod2? Any good?" then he responded:" IGHASDFIGHASIDGHDAS WTF WTF AMAGAD JOEPOE JOEPOE !!! JOEPOE !!! ./join cod2.invite rofl" and I joined the channel, came back in contact with my old tek9 buddies and players like Mick who knew me from vCod. I talked and talking and decided to buy the game to mix with my mates again. The next day however I was banned from the channel, it seemed that there had been multiple "fake" joepoe's on IRC trying to use my name to get into big clans. Funny conversation I had back then trying to prove I was the real joepoe. So it was kind of a Solo-action you can say.
What are your ex-teammates GoodspeeD, Doekoe Blaze etc doing now?
Blaze plays CS:S for ND :D Goodspeed is PRO-POKER :P Doekoe is fulltime away from gaming and into his study, Desorted I cant tell :(.
Could you tell us something more about ND. What do you think of the players could you give us a description?
I don’t know the MGC well enough to say much about ND itself but what I've seem so far is great. About the CoD players I can give a little description.
solz: Known as one of the best players ingame, he contacted me first to play some mixes with nd. to see if I still had what it took or not. Good player and great guy.
Zem: I think zem is the tactical one, from what I’ve seen he's always making tac nades/smokes and tactics, sometimes it’s more then we can handle but they seem to work out great so far.
ddl: The comedian, he makes us laugh 24/7 and is a very very stable player. Doing his task and getting his frags. Also a great guy to be on ventrilo with.
rapz: A smart player who has the aim to back it up, because I haven’t played much with him I cant go into details about him yet :(.
You are going to attend Tek-9 LAN with your manager cause one of the players isn’t able to attend. What are your expectations from it?
The way I see it's going to be impossible to win, seeing that teams like x6 are having a bootcamp before the LAN and all the other top teams joining. With a full line-up we could have made a difference but know that EC is still going on we don’t have time to play fulltime with Recka and train with him.
How are you going to prepare for it? Are you going to bootcamp or just play some online matches
Online matches, I'm trying to get my drivers licence in the 2 weeks before the LAN so I don’t think there is time for me to bootcamp.
Any other LANs that ND is going to attend in the future ?
If Playz throws another LAN well be heading that way.
The Eurocup has come to the playoffs and ND is still competing, In this stage having a solid line-up is very important for a team. But with the removal of razz do you think you fit in right and if so why?
I think with enough training I can be a good replacement of razz since with him the team spirit went down. I'm not saying that it was his fault but seemed to me he just didn’t fit in. We are now playing 24/7 for upcoming Sunday and well do the best we can.
What’s your opinion on the future of cod2?
I have no clue really, I hope there will be more online/LAN tourneys with money involved because that these days seems to be what drives gamers to stay in their game.
What’s your personal top3 for Eurocup XIII
SL x6 ND I can’t say in what order but I think these 3 teams will be deceive in the Cup.
Which team or player have impressed you the most in your short-career in cod2?
I have to say x6/SKO and solZ to players which I still remember from vCod and I think have grown very much in Cod2.
Thank you very much for your time! Are there any more words for our readers?
I wanna thank idle.ee/Fuku,x6/SKO and Tek9|davy for training me the first weeks of my Cod2 career. Shoutout 2 Doekoe, Atjeh, Blaze, the ND team, the x6 main line-up and tek9.
