* This line-up is uncertain. |
This team houses the entourage around the former DefuseKids-stars: Karel Jannes (Bax), Ivan Wuddhisukhim (Apollo) and Yannik Bindo (luce); who used that name to play some fun mixes when they weren’t practicing with their clan. Now, their sympathizers took over and uses the name to attend some Belgian tournaments; mostly with a different line-up.
XIOP bade farewell to myLegend
When it was announced that Belgium would have its own ESWC qualifier, XIOP tried their luck in search for a place in the finals. On the way to, XIOP eliminated the last hope of the Walloons, myLegend and with that; they made clear that their intentions have to be taken serious. Their only struggle and loss was against TEK9 Networks – in the groupstage – were they couldn’t seize the opportunity to harm their position; they even didn’t put the slightest obstacle in their way.
The chance to march on
It’s clear to anyone that they would fight a losing battle against the forces of a LowLandLions or a TEK9 Networks. Luckily for them, their biggest rivals are put into the other side of the single elimination bracket; increasing their chance to advance.
If they want to continue and shine in the finals, they’ll have to defeat the dark horse – exclaimed by the community - of the tournament: dfiance. Even if the door is more open than in other situations, the match itself remains a tricky one for both. Yet, the advantage of being a fun- and mix team can yield a profit as dfiance would come at a point of no return, if they are beaten by first one mentioned. Everybody knows that’s hard to bear such defeat; setting XIOP in a more painless position than their opponent.
If they manage to advance, it’s questionable if they deserve to stand in the finals. The community had hoped to see the only two successful Belgian EPS-teams go head-to-head in the last phase, namely LowLandLions and TEK9 Networks. No matter how, the situation remains the same and we can tell straight out that XIOP will do whatever they can to avoid making fools of themselves; to show that newly baked youths have the potential to be sprinkled with the glimmer and glamour.
