LowLandLions originates by the cooperation between longtime serving National player, Ivan Wuddhisukhum (Apollo) and Dutch figure head, Roy Gerritsen (r0y) who both selected young stars Decio Pinto (decio) and Jannick De Thaeye (Duncan) to syringe their roster with fresh talent and motivation. Former Defusekid-friend Kenneth Öfkeli completed the line-up. However, the team’s quest wasn’t blessed with a long life; changes were required as they weren’t able to cope with the other competitors and shipwrecked way too early for their natural abilities.
The return of the Supreme beings
Nowadays, the LowLandLions’ strength got strongly increased by the injection of two super star players, namely the Belgian ex-defusekid Karel Jannes (Bax) and the legendary, former CEA- and dM-star Nordien De Jong (minto). The unlucky child’s were Pinto and De Thaeye, who both chose to withdraw from the scene for a while, after they got accompanied by their former team players to the exit. If the door is closed for good, is an answer we don’t know.
The above mentioned changes are led by previous experiences of the LowLandLions’ team at the Acer ESWC tournament, where they failed to reach the finals and got outplayed by the best Benelux team of this moment, DCC-gaming. Gerritsen, team captain of LLL said that no personal issues were involved, just the fact that they didn’t saw any improvement with this line-up and were forced to inject their line-up with more talent and experience. Jannes and De Jong are surely a force to be reckoned with and they boost the chances to qualify for the ESWC 2008 strongly.
Will they achieve their aim?
It’s unclear what the LowLandLions’ shape is, even after they won the King of the Hill-match against Team Logic rather surprisingly. At that moment, only Pinto was removed from the roster and De Thaeye was still playing. However, a few days later they decided to add the Dutch De Jong and removed De Thaeye. Beyond dispute, De Jong’s experience reaches greater heights then last named and that makes the lions even stronger at present. The practice with the new team is still a puzzle to solve. Outside of some online practice, none know their practice schedule. Only they and their close entourage know the answer.
