page 5: The Crew

Part of the Fragbite crew
Is it hard to find good crew members? Or maybe it’s easier to ask, how many of your current crew members have been with you a long time?
Samot:
We have six persons who’ve been with us almost since the start. With a crew size of about 12-15 persons on average I think that’s a pretty good score :)

Has a crewmember ever acted so bad that you simply had to kick them out of the team?
Samot:
We’ve only had one incident during our five years where we had to kick a crew member out of the team for misbehaving.

When being on events and such you probably have experienced a lot of crazy and funny moments with the rest of the team hence the following questions.

Who would you pick as the most craziest/wicked crew member?
Samot:
The craziest one would probably Nallen, he’s a very special boy :) Martin (TTl) can have his moments too :)

Usually when dealing with a big team there are always slackers and work ants, if there is a work ant in your crew who would that be (apart from yourself ;)?
Samot:
My brother, flpee :)

I also took the time to ask some of the crew what their thoughts were about Samot, Flpee and their work on Fragbite. Here is what they answered, I got Piks answers in Swedish so I tried to translate them as best I could, think I got it pretty much correct translated.

How would you describe Samot and Flpee?
Scar:
A pair of smart brothers who knows what they are doing all the time.
Pik: Tomas (samot) and Filip (flpee) are two very pleasant lads and they certainly know what they are doing. Despite their young age they have in an impressive way made Fragbite to what it is today.

Are they doing decisions democratically, or are they mean dictators when it comes to deciding things?
Scar:
They almost ask the crew TOO much. We always have a finger in every decision.
Pik: Almost all decisions on Fragbite is handled in a way so that everyone gets to say their part. But when we can´t reach a solution (which is very rare) , Tomas and Filip gets to decide what to do.

How would you describe working on Fragbite?
Scar:
It's great, and you feel like you're really contributing to the scene.
Pik: It´s a very interesting and pleasant project which is very fun contributing to. I see it mostly as a hobby but as the scene grows you never know what it can lead to.

What’s the best and worst part of being at an event?
Scar:
Best is to meet all the great players and media people IRL. Worst is to lose salary at your job cus of taking vacations. :/
Pik: The best part of an event would be the matches with a lot of drama in. To see a match live and to experience the atmosphere and feelings is much more thrilling than following everything through HLTV.  The worst part would probably be all the delays that usually manage their way to the surface.

When getting assigned to an event, is it something you look forward too, or is it more like “oh noes, not again”?
Scar:
It's really great. If I have the time and money I will always try to get a spot.
Pik:
Much of what I described in the last question gives me motivation to go to an event. And of course not to forget traveling and hanging with the rest of the crew :)

Part of the Fragbite crew
What´s your most memorable moment with Fragbite?
Scar:
Have a bunch of them but I remember my first time facing flpee, samot and the other crew at the swedish wcg qual 06 in Stockholm. Was a bit nervous editing my movies the first time having the whole crew behind me looking. :D
Pik: It was when I was in New York with samot, TTL and dr0nt. We covered a WSVG-event overthere during four days. The cover went awesome and everything around worked well. But the highlight was to come to New York! Take me back now :)

A fantastic piece of e-sport journalism, refreshing to see you ask some questions that alot of people wouldnt normally ask. The ones that interested me where the ones to do with the site setup and about the crew of the site and how they manage their time.
I hope to see fragbite at some point covered in english. Although some of the translations of interviews they've done in the past have been enjoyable long may this continue!

good job.
