Gaming: Call of Duty 2 – Quake 4 – Soldier of Fortune 2
Due to its smooth and large surface it is very easy to move your mouse along the QcK Heavy. The smoothness provides a level of accuracy every gamer looks for in a mouse pad. Due to its thickness the QcK Heavy has the ability to cover up uneven surfaces. This showed off nicely while playing games. My crosshair never slipped, jumped or did other weird things unless I made it do that. Sensitivity is not an issue either because the pad is so large both low and high sensitivity gamers can get along just fine with it. This SteelPad QcK Heavy helped me to improve my gaming skills.

Graphics Tasks: Paint – Photoshop
The SteelPad QcK Heavy is the great companion to take along on a journey through Photoshop or Paint. While high detailed work and extreme precision are keywords when using a program such as Photoshop, this mousepad has never let me down. The surface is as smooth as a baby skin and enables you to work accurately.

General use: Internet Explorer – Word – Excel – Powerpoint – Funny Games – ...
This might be the least important situation to test a mousepad in but on the other hand it is probably the most used situation. When you are just using your computer to surf around on the web, chat with friends on MSN or mIRC a good mousepad which does not make daily computer use a struggle is a true gift. In this case the SteelPad QcK Heavy once again came straight from Santa Claus himself. I never experienced any kind of trouble nor any kind of bump. Yet again, the QcK Heavy may be considered a winner.

Comfort

It’s quite obvious how comfortable this SteelPad QcK Heavy really is. It feels great, because of its thickness and size it is wonderful experience to work with this pad. Its size makes it cover a large surface on your desk so you can basically “mouse” wherever you want and you can move the mousepad around once in a while which enables you to use every single spot of it. This action will also extend the durability of this pad and will keep your comfort up at all times.

Durability

I have been using and testing this QcK Heavy for over a year now and apart from some dust, due to lack of cleaning (*wink wink*), there is no sign of destruction. I sometimes slide my keyboard on and off the edge of the mousepad and I am a regular PC user but none of this has caused any damage to my QcK Heavy so far. Because the SteelPad QcK Heavy is a cloth mousepad it will of course be damaged if you spill some Cola on it but it is an obvious problem with cloth surfaces. The pad absorbs water so it will be damaged if you spill any liquid on it that contains sugar (I personally wouldn’t try spilling Coca Cola Zero on it either ... laughs). The edges of the QcK Heavy are definitely well made, and because of the fact that my “keyboard-attacks” haven’t been able to damage them so far, I think that it is quite durable. The edges don’t seem to floss as much as some other mousepads either because of the fabric used. The foam used as base also seems quite strong. I have tested it by pressing the pad down against my desk as hard as possible and I have put some items on it for quite some time but the pad came right back up and didn’t leave any marks. Concerning durability I really think this mat is one of the most durable cloth pads on the market.

Customer Service

SteelSeries’ after-sales support is one of the better customer services provided by a producer of gaming accessories. The company’s website,
www.steelseries.com, delivers a platform full of information about their product and services. Possible product-related issues are being examined and solved fairly quickly through this website. Their customer support is quite established in that regard, and if anything would go wrong - which is rather unlikely - matters can be brought up directly to the company for further explanation.
