page 1: Introduction

In the past few years, cloth mousepads have gained popularity, especially among professionals who demand precision and quality. Professional cloth surfaces have become more popular due to their durability, flexibility to any situation and because they cover the user's entire desk on top of that. This review investigates one of the latest of professional cloth mousepads, the SteelPad QcK heavy.
SteelSeries and the Steelpad QcK Heavy
SteelSeries is a name familiar to almost every hardcore gamer, as a manufacturer of gaming peripherals and other items. SteelSeries, as their name suggests, is a developer of a “series" of gaming hardware designed mostly for computer gamers. They offer a diversity of products from a specialized gaming antivirus and firewall program (SteelSecurity) over gaming headsets (SteelSound) and gaming gloves (SteelGear) to keyboards (SteelKeys) and gaming mousepads. All their mousepads are distributed under the “SteelPad” brand, which SteelSeries was known as, before it started producing other gaming materials.
The SteelPad QcK was SteelSeries' first cloth mousepad to hit the market and was highly regarded by gamers worldwide as one of the best cloth mousepads to get hold of. While the SteelPad Qck offered high precision and made quick movements with the mouse very smooth and easy, there was still a demand for a bigger mousepad for low sensitivity gamers. With that in mind, SteelSeries came up with another variant of the QcK, the Steelpad QcK+.
This mousepad was much larger than the QcK as demanded by the gross-gamer market. In comparison to the competition, SteelSeries noticed that the thickness of their QcK versions wasn’t always appreciated. Therefore they developed their latest addition of cloth mousepads called the SteelPad QcK Heavy. Definitely heavier than the original, the SteelPad QcK Heavy also covered a huge surface area, and was greatly thicker than its predecessor, adding some extra comfort for the user as well.

Very nice article Anthony!
I've been using the QcK+ already for a while now and I just love it, also for Photoshop, ... purposes.
The heavy version is even better so it is definatly a great mousepad! |
